While looking for a Japanese restaurant that doesn't just serve sushi, I came across Cooperativa Shiki. My search was over right after the first visit. Japanese! It was so delicious and the people are just lovely. The food really tastes great! The portions fit perfectly. You are not full to bursting, but rather full that you are directly mentally looking forward to the next time. I am now happily trying my way through the dishes. I can highly recommend Takana Chashu Tonkotsu Ramen, Wakame Udon, as well as the slightly recommended tuna steak menu, the other Udons that my friends ate looked really delicious so far (see photos). Gyoza and the special dessert were also a culinary delight. I'm already looking forward to the following dishes ♥ ️

A very authentic Japanese restaurant! The decor is simple but appropriate. The staff was very friendly and the food was just like I knew it from my vacation in Japan! Conclusion: If you want to get to know Japanese cuisine apart from sushi, this is the right place for you! I like to come back again and again!

Nice authentic staff, very accommodating. The food was very tasty, the selection was clear, there was something for everyone, as well as daily specials. Some of the dishes were also declared vegetarian. Ambience was nice but minimalistic. It was a nice evening, gladly again!

After my trip across Japan, I was longing for something because I really liked the Japanese cuisine and culture. Both can be found one hundred percent in Shiki. The owner is an incredibly lovable, friendly person who takes a lot of time for her guests if they have any questions. The food tastes 100% as if I were in Japan (if I close my eyes I could believe I was there). The whole atmosphere in the restaurant exudes a calm that I also experienced in Japan. The interior is simple but elegant. I like to go back again and again and enjoy it.

A restaurant that looks inconspicuous from the outside at first, but the inside is very nicely furnished with new furniture and a small bar. The food was delicious and it went relatively quickly considering how the food was presented. 4 out of 5 stars as the portions were relatively small. My companion was fed up, I was still hungry. The service was great, the waiter gave detailed and understandable answers to every question. In addition, he explained for each menu / dish and also showed how to prepare and eat it. Thanks a lot for this :) In total I give 4.5 stars because the portions could be a little bigger, otherwise everything is great! :)

The restaurant is really very tastefully furnished. No cheap decoration, but the colors were very nicely matched to each other. This restaurant has de facto potential to become my next favorite place. The waiters are very sociable and extremely obliging every time. This gives me and my husband a lot of pleasure every time they visit, where it has never happened to us that a dish is cold on the table. The choice of drinks leaves nothing to be desired.

There were three of us today shortly after 6 p.m. 2 of 6 tables were occupied. On request if there is still something available for 3 people, no one would have to reserve 2 weeks in advance. We then went to the sushi snack bar next door, it was also very tasty, we were there for 3/4 hour then passed the restaurant again and there were 5 tables available, maybe we weren't dressed appropriately. So today we were back here and made reservations beforehand. And I have to say, such an attentive service can be learned from some German restaurants. And now for the most important thing, the food, it was delicious and really authentic. From the starter to the dessert hammer. Price performance was right. If someone is a real one want to experience an authentic Japanese evening absolutely have to eat there. Thank you for a successful evening ....

As someone who has lived in Japan for a while, I can say that the food is incredibly authentic and is also created with great attention to detail. A nice selection of classic Japanese dishes is offered. The great service and the lady we had identified as the owner made us a wonderful evening full of nostalgic moments. Highly Recommended!

The Torikara Bento and the Katsu Sando are *so* incredibly good, you guys. The food is packaged with such attention to detail and tastes like it comes straight out of a Mom-and-Pop Bento shop back in Japan. Wonderful! The Karaage was perfectly seasoned, so juicy and the texture absolutely perfect. The potato salad was incredibly tasty. All the little side dishes harmonized wonderfully with each other and the main dishes - even the rice with shiso was an experience that took me straight back. The Katsu Sando had *just* the right size, all three Sandos (two beef katsu sandos and one potato salad sando) were incredibly tasty and showed an extremely pleasant play of tastes, textures and ingredients. I love how well the cabbage and carrot on the katsu sando works with the sauce and beef on the sandwich. I highly recommend you try these for yourself. I will be coming back - hopefully for a dinner menu, too.

Very nice restaurant. It is not very big, so it is advisable to pre-order. Everything makes a very fresh impression. I was not worried about eating raw fish there. I am looking forward to the next visit.

Amazing authentic Japanese food! Love it!

I live in the USA now and I absolutely love the Japanese food there. This little restaurant has very authentic dishes which I know and love. Everything is very fresh and delicious. This is not your typical "Asian" place where you get germanized Asian food, this is authentic Japanese food. Absolutely awesome.

We were pleasantly surprised on our first visit. The dishes are freshly prepared and taste very authentic. The atmosphere in the restaurant is highlighted with warm tones and very inviting. A real asset to the gastronomy scene in Braunschweig. This was certainly not our last visit.

My favorite Japanese 🥰 Super quality and traditional. I feel like I'm in a small restaurant in Osaka. You just feel very comfortable. The waiter is very knowledgeable and guides you through the menu and tries to fulfill every wish. The owner often asks how the food is. Super friendly. Always happy.

Ramen is rich and tasty. Remember to order Gyoza, it is not on the menu but worth trying.

Oishii! Real Japanese food in Braunschweig!

The taste is OK, but it is not very friendly for us to eat more. Not eating 2 bowls of rice is not enough. It is recommended to eat a variety of fixed foods. Ramen is not recommended. As for the price, it is more expensive than Berlin, but after all, there is only one such as Brunswick.

Shiki is an authentic Japanese restaurant in Braunschweig. It is the only restaurant in Braunschweig with a Japanese chef and owner. Come try real Japanese food!

Wonderful authentic Japanese restaurant!

Good Japanese food, especially the Ramen soup is in Braunschweig to my knowledge only here, delicious appetizer and a good selection of Japanese dishes that are not sushi. A small drawback is that in a large group the dishes unfortunately did not come together, so a star deduction. Because of the food and the very sympathetic service we are happy to come back. The dishes were very well presented.
